Mock exams: frequently asked questions

Timing, scoring and negative marking, exam credits and reviewing your answers.

How do mock exams work?

Mock exams follow the format of the real exam: the same time limit, question types and scoring rules. The timer starts when you begin and cannot be paused. After you submit, you see your score, a breakdown of every question and how your result compares with other students.

Do mock exams use negative marking?

When the real exam deducts points for wrong answers, the mock exam does too. Some questions also offer an "I don't know" option, which scores zero and never costs points.

How many mock exams can I take?

Each mock exam attempt uses one exam credit. Exam credits are included when you buy full access to a course, and your balance is shown on the mock exams page.

Can I review my answers afterwards?

Yes. After submitting, you can go through every question, see the correct answer and read the worked solution.
